Effective, enjoyable, easy to use, and inexpensive to make, this reading game, Comprehension Cups, helps students to see "the big picture," a metacognitive strategy. They read a  factual detail and learn to make an inference about what information it communicates to them.

A strong addition to your comprehension repertoire, it is easy to make into a learning center activity. All that is required is 6 cups and a shoebox. Students place phrases into appropriate cups labeled Who? What? When? Where? How? Why?

Complete instructions and three sets (360 phrases) are included.
