Now that the first semester is over, have you recognized
your struggling readers?
Teachers are very busy teaching, teaching, teaching…
but is everyone learning and retaining?
Reading fundamentals don’t change,
and reading is so important to success in school and in most endeavors.
How and why I developed my formula is explained in
Reading Spotlight’s previous post:
What Did Last Year’s Teacher Teach Them?
but I have distilled it to a simple principle here.
The most important lesson for success is:
- Individual students need review of a lesson to retain it.
- Some students need more review.
- Some other students need even more review.
- A few students need complete reteaching and review and more review.
My formula: Individualization + REVIEW (Overlearning) + Patience = Success.
That is all.
