I started with decorations. Papel Picado means “perforated paper.”  This art is usually intricately designed, with several different historical references as well.  But they looked like I could turn them into rectangle-shaped paper snowflakes.

No matter what the subject, no matter what the season, inventive teachers can often design lessons that relate to the subjects they are introducing, teaching, or reviewing that will also require children to put down their cell phones and do their homework outside. Here are just a few ideas.

My corner classroom library was the lifeblood of my remedial classroom. Students earned their way into the Cozy Corner with a free time ticket. 15 punches on the ticket and you were in! You could read all kinds of interesting and enjoyable books while the other students worked. WOW!
