Tall Tales Grammar Review: Set B

Fun! Motivating! Effective! Easy to Use!

Try a bit of Americana to practice English grammar and spelling skills with intermediate and middle school students.

Contents of Set B:

Casey Jones--Railroad Engineer

Febold Feboldson--Weatherman

John Henry--Tunnel Digger

Paul Bunyan--Lumberjack

Sally Cato--Giant Schemer

The tales focus on the most common errors in homophones, subject-verb agreement, apostrophe, capitalization, punctuation, and irregular verbs and plurals.

They are great for regular English and ESL students because they improve grammar, spelling, reading, and writing.

The stories can be used in learning centers, or as homework, seatwork, or preparation for state writing tests.

Simple to use and to grade, if desired, every tale fits on one, two-sided piece of paper. Each sentence of the tale includes only one grammatical error. Students enjoy trying to find it, individually or in teams.

Every story comes with an ANSWER KEY PLUS an explanation for each correction. A short Writing Prompt is added for extra credit, and the each story also has a corrected version in paragraph form.
